Trading Blows

In what is shaping up to be a MVP season for Matthew Stafford, we are taken to Los Angeles where he will face the team that traded him away. However, he is not alone as the other part of that trade in Jared Goff will also be returning to the team that traded him away. Coming to meet for the third time, we find them at different places in the season. Goff and the Lions find themselves in a rocky position at 8-5 and outside the playoffs; while Stafford and the Rams find themselves atop the mountain as the number one seed in the NFC at 10-3.

The Lions are coming off a much needed win against a tough Cowboys team, and are looking to build off that and claw their way into the playoff picture. However, with a depleted defense that has shown its vulnerabilities throughout the season and an arguably inconsistent offense, the Lions are facing a tough game on Sunday.

On the other side of the field, the Rams are seemingly rolling through the season with dominance and ease. With an all-star wide receiver duo in Puka and Davante, everybody’s All-American QB Stafford, and a formidable defense, the Rams have been making quick work of their opponents. However, some spotty games have been their Achilles heel, so the Rams can’t afford to not take these Lions seriously.

Round three of the saga will take place on Sunday, and we will see how these elite quarterbacks will write this chapter.
