49ers Outlast the Bears
In an instant classic on Sunday night, the San Francisco 49ers (12-4) are proving that even depleted with injuries, they are a strong playoff contender. With an impressive offensive outing, the 49ers beat the Chicago Bears (11-5) and maintain a position to take the #1 seed in the NFC.
The 49ers offense had a day with Brock Purdy having 303 passing yards, 3 TDs and 1 interception, Christian McCaffrey led rushing with 23 carries for 140 yards, and Ricky Pearsall led receiving yards with 5 catches for 85. The San Francisco defense tried to limit the Bears, but weren’t very successful in stopping a high-powered offense. They need to shape up if they want to go far in the playoffs, but the injuries to their defensive stars could prove fatal.
