Vikings Hold Off Lions

In a most shocking way, the Minnesota Vikings hold off the Lions and ruin their last hopes of a post-season appearance in a 23-10 victory on Christmas Day. The Detroit Lions (8-8) having fought their way through a frustrating season finally see their playoff hopes dashed with a loss against division foe, while the Minnesota Vikings (8-8) enjoy their role as spoiler in the victory led by back-up quarterback Max Brosmer.

Max Brosmer had a less than impressive outing going 9/16 with 51 passing yards, no TDs and no interceptions; with Jordan Addison leading rushing with 65 yards, and Justin Jefferson led receiving yards with 4 catches for 30 yards. The Vikings defense feasted on Christmas with 2 interceptions, 4 fumble recoveries, 5 sacks, and 8 QB hits. They had Jared Goff’s number and Brian Flores made sure to have the Vikings firing on all cylinders.

Jared Goff had a frustrating day with 197 passing yards, 1 TD, and 2 interceptions; with Jahmyr Gibbs leading rushing with 41 yards, and Amon-Ra St. Brown leading receiving with 68 yards. The Lions defense did their best to keep Detroit in the game with 7 sacks and 8 QB hits, but the mistakes on the offensive side of the ball kept the game out of reach.
